Can a sound-card on a msi-a4000 laptop just burn out? Anything I can do to repair?

celeron dual core cpu 1.80 Ghz
2 Gig installed Ram

I have tried disabling and re-enabling, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. There is no indication that the driver is not working other than the fact: no sound is produced! Also tried system restore – no help.

How do I turn on bluetooth on MSi Laptop?

I have searched for it in the control panel, there is no blue icon anywhere to be found. I’ve searched through the start menu, in my tray icon, and there’s no shortcut buttons [that i know of] that will turn it on. However, there’s a LCD light that’s turned off with the icon labeled as bluetooth. Also my laptop was advertised to have bluetooth, and I even have a little sheet that says it has bluetooth. I can’t find it anywhere.

My laptop is MSi-1683 and recently had to reinstall the OS[windows 7]. I looked for the software, and reinstalled it. But when it comes to installing the bluetooth itself, it says “Intalling Bluetooth driver….” followed by “Please plug in the Bluetooth device and click OK button.” What should I do? How do I get this to work?

Should I Send My Laptop for Repairs?

Hi,

My laptop is a little over 3 years old. Yesterday I switched it off by pressing the ON button for over 10 sec and when I tried to switch it back on it doesn’t work. It gets to the laptop brand name screen and then a black screen and thats it.

Spec: MSI GX600, 2GB RAM, 160 GB Hard disk, Geforce 8600GT, Core 2 Duo 1.86 Ghz, etc etc.

Its definitely NOT the harddrive that is causing the problem because I tried switching it with a new one and it still didn’t work. Is it worth sending to get fixed or just purchasing a new laptop? Any ideas as to what the problem is?

Laptop Wont Boot Operating System?

I have a brand new laptop which started up normally on first use. After I installed AVG 9.0 antivirus it asked me to restart the system. When I restarted the system started loading windows 7 for about 1 second before entering startup repair. Startup repair found a problem and “fixed” it.
Now my system wont load the OS. It shows me the run recovery, enter setup e.t.c by pressing the appropriate key (f3, f11, del e.t.c) screen. After which instead of saying starting windows it only stays blank but the LCD is on. The HDD light shows no activity. System recovery works to startup but now everytime I turn off the system it repeats the process. I have windows 7 and the MSI CX500
Startup repair and system restore did not help only recovery. Why does the antivirus corrupt my system. It never corrupted any of my other systems.
Thanks for the info but I fixed it by changing my hard drive to number 1 in boot device priority (or something like that) in the setup. I don’t know why this should have affected the booting though as once it cannot detect a cd in the dvd drive (which was first at the time the problem occured) it should automatically switch to boot from the second device in the list but for some reason it didn’t

Computer Fan Broken Help!!!?

Ok I have a MSI laptop and one day I move it onto my lap while it was on and it started making a loud wierd sound so I turned it off. I turned it back on and it was still making the sound so I go to “start windows normally” and it took a while then the screen flashed blue and brought me back to the choices. This time I went to repair and it told me it had to delete everything on my C drive, I would do that if its sure to fix it but i didn’t know, so I turned it off. Then the next day I brought it to my computer teacher and he said that its the fan and it since my computer kept burning out in the past it made the computer messed up. He told me to contact MSI and ask them to replace the fan. The problem is its an MSI computer but I bought it off Newegg and it dosn’t have a warranty. I don’t really know what to do right now and I can’t let this one broke I just broke a $800 laptop a year ago and this one is a $700 one. I just need to know what to do please help.
Is there a certain size fan? A certain one I need? Those are the details I mean.

My friend is a manager at one of the PC Cyber stores and showed me that PC. Apparently a customer dropped the last model which I’m assuming is the floor model. They sent it away to be repaired or replaced and it came back in about 10 days instead of the full 2 weeks.

I asked what was done with it, he said either replaced the outer shell if everything tested okay or just replaced the entire laptop.

PC Cyber seems to be a little on the unprofessional side and I could see them lying to me about what was done to it. How do I find out if it’s a direct replacement and would you buy a laptop with such a history?

a Cracked Laptop Lid counts as a “Mechanical Failure” right?

My laptop has factory warranty through MSI until September, but i purchased a 3 year extended warranty.

My extended warranty says that it covers “mechanical and electrical failures from normal use”.

I’m planning on buying a laptop, probably one of these two. Which one in your opinion is better for playing Dragon Age: Origins and for gaming in general? Either of these should be enough I think but I’m not really an expert. I also have some doubts about the GPU.

MSI U100 Screen Crack?

Ok so last night the screen on my MSI U100 laptop cracked in the bottom right corner and the screen no longer works. It still lights up and everything but only inverted lines and whatnot show up on the screen. In case USI warranty doesn’t cover it, I still need to check, is there any way I can possibly get this fixed? Or do I just need to get a new laptop?

Cons of Asus: low res, cpu doesn’t seem like it will be good 3 years from now
Pros of MSI: Good resolution, awesome gpu, thin
Cons of MSI: core i5(when compared to i7), USB 2.0(i need this laptop to last 4 years with good performance)

My question is:
Which one will last me longer? The main thing holding me back from the msi is the cpu. I’m just afraid the dual core won’t be able to handle the software of a few years from now. And usb 2.0 will be my bottle neck in a few years.

Hi, i currently have a 4 month old MSI laptop with Intel core i5 processor, 4GB of ram and shared Intel HD graphics. My question is will these Specs be enough for what i do, i am constantly editing, converting and rendering HD video using Sony Vegas and xilisoft video converter. Are Alienware laptops good?

Hey, looking to buy a new laptop, good for high end multimedia processing and gaming.
I’m looking at ASUS g73, Acer Ethos 8943g and Alienware Mx17 as my main three choices within my price range. I know brands like Metabox and MSI offer things like a 940x processor, but I just don’t have the money to go that high.

So I was wondering, is Alienware good? I’ve been reading a lot of customer complaints, but then there are some people who claim to be the lucky lot and have had no problems with theirs. What are your opinions on Alienware? Is it really worth all that money for something so likely to break?

also durability. my very first laptop was a Twinhead, and it just broke down on me. crashed without any good reason to. my sister also had the same brand twinhead for her first laptop. same thing happened to her. and they were both the top of the line at that time and i maxed out the specs on it.
im asking because i saw this magazine yesterday with tiny laptops. 10″ screens by MSI and Asus. i already have the asus eee pc. but this is the very first gen eee pc so the screen is really tiny. if i could get the 10″ screen, things would be a lot easier. no more scrolling sideways lol. How do I fix the inbuilt webcam for MSI VR601 laptop?

My webcam used to work, then started only working sometimes, then stopped working altogether. I just get a black screen where it should be video, no error message. MSI CR600 laptop touchpad stopped working?

I have a laptop from MSI that ive had for over a year, and today the touchpad stopped working completely. The buttons under it (left & right click) still work perfectly, but no response from the touchpad. I checked in the device control manager and it still shows up as working fine. Any ideas on how to fix it or new drivers to download?

New hard drive on Acer laptop, How to install windows + acer drivers.?

I asked it before but I got no other answers than “Download the acer drivers” Well that won’t work.

So what I want to do is format the C:/ and install a version of vista with the drivers so everything won’t screw up, However I have not gotten any CDs with vista when buying this laptop, How or where can I get this or how can I throw the acer drivers on there so my internet works (Since I have no access to internet with or without wire, Installing the drivers does not help apperently since I have installed all of them. The hard drive I’m using was originally from an MSI laptop.
Isn’t there something I can do now without having to wait two weeks for my vendor to fix it or acer to send me anything?
I have done what the 4th guy said, Thats why I said i have installed the drivers, It doesn’t work.
I have solved the issue by formatting my c:/ and installing Vista from a different CD using the laptop‘s code and afterwards installing the drivers again.
Once again I would like to make clear that I did install all drivers before the format and I believe the reason that it didn’t work was because the wireless internet button already was binded to a command from the MSI motherboard.
